Measure ring size
Find Your Ring Size
A perfect fit is the difference between a ring you wear once and a ring you wear for years.
Method 1 — Measure with a strip of paper
The easiest way to find your size at home. All you need is a strip of paper, a pen, and a ruler.
- Cut a thin strip of paper, about 4 inches long and ¼ inch wide.
- Wrap it around the base of the finger you want to size. It should sit snug — not tight, not loose.
- Mark the spot where the paper overlaps with a pen.
- Lay the strip flat and measure the length up to your mark in millimeters.
- Find your measurement in the size chart below — that's your ring size.
Method 2 — Measure a ring you already own
If you have a ring that fits perfectly on the same finger:
- Place the ring flat on a table.
- Measure the inner diameter in millimeters — straight across the inside of the ring, edge to edge.
- Match the measurement to the chart below.
Ring Size Chart
| US Size | Inner Diameter | Circumference |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 0.62" (15.7 mm) | 1.93" (49 mm) |
| 6 | 0.65" (16.6 mm) | 2.05" (52 mm) |
| 7 | 0.68" (17.2 mm) | 2.13" (54 mm) |
| 8 | 0.71" (18.1 mm) | 2.24" (57 mm) |
| 9 | 0.75" (19.1 mm) | 2.36" (60 mm) |
| 10 | 0.78" (19.7 mm) | 2.44" (62 mm) |
| 11 | 0.81" (20.6 mm) | 2.56" (65 mm) |
Tips for the perfect fit
- Measure at the end of the day. Fingers swell slightly as the day goes on — that's when you want the ring to still feel comfortable.
- Warm hands measure best. Cold fingers shrink and can give you a size too small. Avoid measuring right after coming inside on a cool day.
- Your dominant hand is usually larger. Often by half a size. Measure the exact finger you'll wear the ring on.
- Between two sizes? Size up. A ring should slide on past the knuckle and rest snug at the base — never tight.
- For wider bands, go one size up. Wider rings sit tighter than thin bands of the same size.
